Privacy policy
Last updated November 5, 2026. We keep this simple: we collect as little as we can, keep tool data on your device, and share match requests only with your permission.
Who we are
This policy covers the website at dr.clinic (“dr.clinic”, “we”, “us”). You can contact us about privacy at any time through our contact page by choosing “Privacy or data request”.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Clinic match requests: the type of care you want, location, timing, preferences, and your name and contact details.
- Contact, newsletter, support, contest, careers, clinic and advertising forms: the details you enter, such as your name, email address and message.
Please do not send detailed medical histories, test results or identification numbers through our forms. We are not a healthcare provider and we are not designed to hold medical records.
Information that stays on your device
Our calculators, blood pressure log, symptom journal, visit sheet and medication schedule run in your browser. Anything you save is stored in your browser's local storage on your device. It is not sent to us, and you can delete it at any time with the tool's clear button or by clearing your browser data.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) and our advertising partner (Google) may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and referring site, for security, performance and advertising purposes.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Where required by law — for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland — a consent message powered by Google's certified consent management platform asks for your choices before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choices at any time with the “Privacy & cookie choices” link in the footer. We do not use your health-tool entries for advertising, and ads are not targeted using health information you give us. See our cookie policy for more.
Embedded videos
Videos are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and load only after you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
How we use information
- To respond to your request or message.
- To find suitable clinic options for a match request and, only if you agree, share your request with up to three matching clinics so they can contact you.
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to (unsubscribe any time).
- To run contests, process support pledges and consider job applications.
- To keep the site secure, fix problems and understand which pages are useful.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- with partner clinics, for match requests you have explicitly agreed to share;
- with service providers who help us operate the site, such as our form-delivery provider (FormSubmit), our hosting provider (GitHub) and email services, under their terms;
- with Google, as described above, for advertising;
- if required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of people or of dr.clinic.
How long we keep information
We keep form submissions only as long as needed for the purpose you gave them — typically up to 24 months for match requests and messages, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or the law requires longer retention.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — for example under the EU and UK GDPR, Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and provincial laws such as Québec's Law 25), California and other US state privacy laws, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data-protection authority. To make a request, use our contact page. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Health information
dr.clinic is not a healthcare provider, health plan or clearinghouse, so laws such as the US HIPAA generally do not apply to us. We still treat anything you tell us about your health as sensitive: we ask you not to send medical details, limit who can see requests, and share them only with your consent.
Children
dr.clinic is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. Parents and guardians may request care for a child through the match form. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers and security
Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours. We use providers with appropriate safeguards and protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and limited access. No method of transmission is perfectly secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will change the date at the top when we do. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
