Accessibility
Accessibility statement
Health information should be usable by everyone. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we do
- Semantic headings, landmarks and a “skip to main content” link on every page.
- Keyboard-accessible menus, forms, tools and video players, with visible focus outlines.
- Text and interface colours chosen for strong contrast, in both light and dark modes.
- Forms with visible labels, clear error messages and no time limits.
- Animations reduced automatically if you have turned on “reduce motion”.
- Plain-language writing, short paragraphs and descriptive link text.
- Pages that work when zoomed to 200% and on small screens.
Known limitations
Some embedded third-party content, such as YouTube videos and advertisements, is controlled by its providers and may not fully meet our standard. Captions are available on most embedded videos through the YouTube player.
